July at Hillsgreen

From a new website and the latest Marketing to Farmers report to shows, farm visits and sector-wide campaigns, July gave us plenty to talk about. July was one of those months that seemed to fly by. Between launching new work, getting out to agricultural shows, spending time on farm and supporting campaigns that matter to our sector, there was plenty happening across the Hillsgreen team. Our monthly email only had room for the highlights, so here is the fuller story of what we launched, where we went and what kept us busy throughout July.

Our New Website Is Live

After plenty of planning, writing, designing and refining behind the scenes, the new Hillsgreen website is officially live.

The fresh look reflects who we are today: a specialist rural and agricultural marketing agency that knows the sector, understands the audience and focuses on commercial performance. It is now easier to explore our services, see the results we deliver and find practical resources for marketing to farmers and rural audiences.

We are really pleased to have it out in the world. Take a look around the new website.

Marketing to Farmers 2026/27 Has Arrived

July also saw the launch of our latest Marketing to Farmers report, bringing together fresh insight from 1,255 farmers across the UK.

The 2026/27 report looks at how farmers discover brands, what influences purchasing decisions, where trust is built and how their media habits are changing. More importantly, it turns the findings into practical direction for businesses planning their next campaign, setting budgets or trying to make every marketing pound work harder.

For anyone selling into agriculture, it is a useful reminder that strong marketing starts with evidence, not assumptions. Understanding how farmers think, research and buy helps brands create work that feels relevant and earns attention for the right reasons.

The report is available through our new site. Explore Marketing to Farmers 2026/27.

What Have We Been Up To?

Launches were only part of the month. Show season, team time and a few days out on farm kept us moving too.

Catching Up at the Royal Welsh Show

The Royal Welsh Show is always a highlight in the agricultural calendar, and this year was no different. It gave us the chance to catch up with clients, meet new faces and spend time listening to the conversations shaping Welsh and wider British agriculture.

Days at a show are busy, but they are also a valuable reminder of why face-to-face connection still matters. The best ideas often begin with an honest conversation on a stand, over a coffee or while making your way around the showground.

A Look Back at the Cheshire Show

We could not round up the summer without including the Cheshire Show. Being so close to home, it is always a brilliant opportunity to reconnect with the local rural community and see the breadth of businesses, people and ideas that keep the sector moving.

It also gave us a strong bank of content from the day, from familiar faces and live show moments to the details that bring an agricultural event to life.

A New Hillsgreen Photoshoot

Back at Hillsgreen HQ, we also made time for a new team photoshoot. As the agency evolves, it is important that our photography feels as current and confident as the work we do.

Alongside updated portraits, we captured the team working together and a few less formal moments too. You will start to see the new images appearing across the website and our channels over the coming months.

Team Time at Carrie’s Farm

July was not all launches and deadlines. The team headed to Carrie’s farm for a summer social and some well-earned time together away from our screens.

It was a chance to catch up properly, enjoy the farm setting and have a laugh together. Those moments matter in a busy agency: they give us space to reset, strengthen the connections across the team and celebrate what we have achieved so far this year.

Taking on the FBS 90 for 90 Challenge

We have also been getting the miles in for the Farm Business Survey’s 90 for 90 challenge. To mark 90 years of the survey, teams are aiming to cover 90 miles while raising money for The Farming Community Network.

The challenge has prompted plenty of walks, runs and friendly encouragement across the team. More importantly, it supports a charity that offers confidential, practical and pastoral support to farmers and farming families when life or business becomes difficult.

Every mile and every donation helps. Find out more about the FBS 90 for 90 challenge.

Müller Farm Visit

The team headed to Hillsgreen farm for a Müller Dairy Farmers event, giving visitors a closer look at the day-to-day reality of a modern dairy business and the technology supporting it.

The farm walk included innovations such as heat detection systems, the Hoofcount footbath, the Lely Juno feed pusher and ADF automated milking technology. It was a useful opportunity for farmers to compare notes, ask questions and share practical experience of what is working on farm.

For us, visits like this bring the worlds of agriculture and marketing together. Staying close to the realities of farming helps us understand the pressures, priorities and opportunities our clients and their customers face.

Supporting British Agriculture

Two important campaigns gave the industry a shared voice in July, and we were proud to help amplify both.

Farm Safety Week

Farm Safety Week put the focus on the life-changing consequences a single shortcut, missed hazard or rushed decision can have for a farming family and business.

Agriculture is an industry built on practical skill and resilience, but it is also one where familiarity can make risk feel routine. The campaign was an important prompt to pause, talk openly about safety and look out for the people working beside us. No deadline or job is more important than getting everyone home safely.

Farm24

At the end of the month, #Farm24 once again filled social feeds with an honest, energetic picture of British agriculture. For 24 hours, farmers and the wider industry shared what happens behind the farm gate and the many ways farming contributes to food production, the countryside, employment and rural communities.

We were pleased to add our support to a campaign that lets the people closest to agriculture tell its story in their own words. Authentic voices build understanding, and #Farm24 shows just how powerful that can be when the whole sector joins in.

You can catch up with the wider campaign through the Farm24 hub.

July by the Numbers

It was a busy month for client campaigns too. Across the work we delivered, July generated:

They are five very different numbers, but each points to the same thing: focused, audience-led marketing that turns attention into measurable action.

On to the Next One

July brought new launches, valuable conversations and plenty of reasons to get out of the office. Thank you to everyone who downloaded the report, explored the new website, caught up with us at a show or supported the campaigns we shared.

We are already into the next round of projects, events and ideas. Keep an eye on our website and social channels to see what the Hillsgreen team gets up to next.
