Hello, I’m Eliza. I have joined Hillsgreen as a Marketing Assistant and I’m so excited to be here!
I recently embarked on a two week work experience trial at Hillsgreen, where I reached out to Andy to see if there was any potential vacancies. During this period, I showcased my skills and passion for marketing, ultimately leading to the exciting opportunity for a full-time position. Prior to this, I gained valuable experience through a summer internship at a digital marketing agency in Manchester. This internship not only equipped me with the practical knowledge but also solidified my passion for the dynamic world of marketing. I am eager to contribute my skills and creativity to the team at Hillsgreen.
Having grown up on my family’s dairy farm I have certainly witnessed the ups and downs of the farming industry. My upbringing of the workings on a family business has equipped me with skills that are proving to be highly relevant within my new role. While a family business offers many positive insights such as multi-generational learning, high trust and loyalty and a strong work ethic, it also comes with its challenges. Aspects such as managing family dynamics, succession planning and ensuring fair treatment of both family employees and non-family employees. Nevertheless, the experience gained has been an extremely valuable assets for my own personal and professional growth.
I have recently graduated from Nottingham Trent University where I studied Business Management and Marketing. While I cherish my time at university, the post-grad phase has certainly presented its share of challenges. No one quite prepares you for the reality of leaving the academic bubble and parting ways with close friends who shared your journey. It’s a period that I have found to be both exhilarating and bittersweet. However, I am looking forward to making my way in the marketing industry.
In the midst of all this change, I have an upcoming adventure on the horizon. I’m heading to Zimbabwe for a volunteering opportunity in conservation. The prospect of contributing to the preservation of wildlife and natural habitats is incredibly fulfilling for me. It’s also a chance to make a positive impact and learn from a completely different environment and world.
As I navigate this exciting new phase in my marketing career, I’m eager to see what the future holds. The intersection of my farm roots, marketing aspiration and passion for people promises to be an exciting journey. I am really looking forward to learning more about the marketing world and applying all the theory I have learnt!
