Hillsgreen Founder Shortlisted for Digital Innovator of the Year!

We’re extremely excited to announce that Hillsgreen founder Andy Venables has been shortlisted for the Digital Innovator of the Year award at this year’s British Farming Award.

It’s a huge honour to be a finalist for any British Farming Award, and we were thrilled to learn the news that Andy – and all the work he’s put into introducing new technology at Hills Green Farm, diversifying into Hillsgreen and setting up Mission 4 Milk – has been rewarded for his efforts.

What are the British Farming Awards?

The BFAs are a nationally recognised event that celebrates all the amazing work that farmers do in this country.  They shine a light on the rural and agricultural industry, including all the exciting new developments and thriving businesses – big and small.

The awards are organised by AgriBriefing and supported by Morrisons.

What is a digital innovator?

The farming community is continuing to embrace new technologies and new ways of marketing and operations that embrace the prevalent digital landscape.

There is so much potential for farming businesses in this sphere that the British Farming Awards wanted to specifically recognise those who are using digital platforms – like social media channels and websites – to promote themselves and the industry.

Why Andy and Hillsgreen?

Since returning to his family farm – Hills Green – after almost 10 years heading up a digital marketing team in Manchester, Andy has been instrumental in transforming the farm business. He’s brought several digital innovations to the way they operate and the marketing they do, using his expertise and experience away from the rural sector.

That combination of rural and digital marketing experience has helped him diversify his family farm and create Hillsgreen, a business dedicated to supporting farmers and others in the agricultural industries to improve their own digital marketing, innovate their route to markets, and achieve greater success.

The awards ceremony takes place 17th October

All the finalists are invited down to the National Conference Centre on Thursday 17th October when the final awards ceremony will be held and the judges’ results announced.

We’ll be heading down with the entire Hillsgreen team and a few special guests, because it’s a privilege simply to be named as a finalist. It will be a great night, and who knows – Hillsgreen may just pick up that top prize!

We’ve certainly got all our fingers crossed for Andy!
